moved to seoul with her mother in the spring of 2012, following her grandfather's decline due to advanced parkinson's disease. for the remainder of her schooling, she balanced coursework with household chores while helping her mother care for him.

participated in competitive gymnastics until the age of fifteen, when her mother pressured her to spend more time on her studies. her best - and favorite - events were the vault and floor exercise. despite the fact that she doesn't train as strenuously as she did in her team days, she still attends open gym sessions from time to time.

despite her love of learning, suhee had no real desire to go to college and attended k-arts solely to please her parents, choosing to major in vocal music as it would require only moderate effort on her part. unfortunately, her plan backfired, and her "lack of commitment towards her future" - as her father so kindly put it - remained a bit of a sore topic until the two reconciled in mid-2018.

followed her confectionary dreams in november 2018 and opened moonflower sweets + treats in her then location of seoul. the business specialized in dessert and treat catering while also providing a rotating menu of pre-made items in store. since her move back to new york, she has been working on plans to open a new location and spread her love of food.

family-oriented in the sense that her closest friends are her family, period. when her closest friend - and then roommate - confessed to wanting to move back to their home state of new york, she quickly teamed up with her girlfriend, leo, and the two evaluated their reasons for staying in seoul. after a very tearful discussion with her mother, culminating in suhee being told that she needed to live her life and not stick around for someone else's, her decision was made.

has one tattoo on her right wrist that she got on a whim. despite it being a spontaneous decision, it means a lot to her and she uses it as a reminder to relax and take time for herself.
